Trail and Food Week helps put
A food trail showcasing food producers, restaurants, accommodation providers and tourist attractions across the Tyrone region has been developed by Flavour of Tyrone. Called the Flavour of Tyrone Food Trail, the map will act as a guide and signpost visitors, across the region, to discover a taste of Tyrone.
The trail, which was officially launched during Tyrone Food Week (18th-23rd Feb), was developed by Flavour of Tyrone Good Food Circle and illustrated by local artist/designer Patricia Conlin. The Good Food Circle has 25 members and was created with the aim of enhancing the customer experience through high standard, top quality food using local produce. The participating restaurants are regularly and rigorously examined to ensure these standards are upheld.
Patricia’s Paintings in Paris
An exhibition organised by L’Hay les Roses (which is on the southern outskirts of Paris) held in May 2012, featured the work of local artist Patricia Conlin. L’Hay les Roses, Omagh’s twin town, is also twinned with Bad Hersfeld in Germany. The work exhibited was that of one selected artist from each of the towns.
Due to its success, in a reciprocal twinning project Omagh District Council hosted the art exhibition which was held in L’Hay les Roses.
‘Landscapes from Home and Abroad’ which featured work by Patricia as well as paintings by Jacques Courtois from L’Hay les Roses and Manfred Grund from Bad Hersfeld (Germany), which is also twinned with L’Hay les Roses.
The exhibition was held at Strule Arts Centre from 7th February until 2nd March 2013.
